Product Review- Oyin Handmade Honey-Hemp Conditioner

Hi Everyone! I hope all is well. Its very cold and there is lots of snow here in New York. I wish I was on a tropical island (and so does my hair!) I have been searching for a natural conditioner that I could purchase that would leave my hair soft, easy to detangle and smelling good.

Well I have found it! Oyin Handmade Honey-Hemp Conditioner is exactly what I have been looking for. I love how creamy it is, and it smells soooo good! When using it as a leave-in, I mixed with water, vegetable glycerin and essential oils and I spray my hair daily with it. It leaves my hair sooo soft. I use it to detangle my hair because it has really good slip! And it makes an awesome deep conditioner. I use it with my heating cap every two weeks. You can use it as a prepoo treatment. I like to leave it on my hair for at least two hours before I shampoo.

Honey Hemp Conditioner contains: purified water, organic aloe vera gel, behentremonium methosulfate (emulsifier derived from colza oil), honey, virgin hemp oil, , coconut oil, vegetable glycerine, hydrolized silk, citrus essences, fragrance, optiphen (preservative)

Like all other Natural Products its best to use them within a reasonable time frame. Oyin Handmade suggests that you use the conditioner within 3-6 months. They said "Although we have tested this product to be safe to use when stored in a cool place up to one year, the fragrance begins to go funny before then, so please purchase in a quantity you can use in 6 months or less! ;o)"

I recommend you try their products. I have other Oyin Handmade Product Reviews coming in the future. All I can say is that I am hooked. Thanks for stopping by Nelly's True Natural Products.

Until Next Time...

Best Wishes, Good Health and Happy Hair Growing!!!

Cadian Carter- Jan 2011 Hair Inspiration

Hi Everyone! I hope all is well. For 2011, I wanted to share the journeys, tips, and experiences of other lovely ladies and Cadian Carter is a wonderful hair inspiration to start the year off with. She is Bold, Creative, and Naturally Beautiful. Keep reading...she has a lot of inspirational things to say.

Cadian, How long have you been on your healthy hair journey?

I've been on my natural hair journey for 8 months.

What 3 products can you NOT live with out?

I CANNOT CANNOT CANNOT live without Shea Moisture anything by them because its great for moisture of course, Curlisto Natural Coils Paste because in addition to slicking my edges, its extremely good at taming while providing excellent moisture and care; and Curls Goddess Curl exclusively at Target because its excellent for twist outs and braid outs.

Who is your hair inspiration?/What keeps you motivated?

My natural hair inspiration, or as my husband has set for me (LOL) is Marsha Ambrosius because her hair is gorgeous and full! It motivates me because it shows me what my hair COULD and WILL be:)

What is your favorite hairstyle?

I LOVE twistouts and braidouts! I have a reddish plum color right now so it really makes it pop when I do braidouts!! I'm definitely not afraid to be fro-licious either:)

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I love being natural! I've never loved my hair as much as I do now! Its taught me how beautiful I am and how easy it is to take care of your hair chemical free. All you need is a little patience and confidence.

What tips do you have for other ladies?

Moisturize!!! I find the best Moisturizers are those that contain Shea Butter. Anything containing petroleum and Mineral oil, just sits on top of your hair. If you want soft hair that embraces your personal curl, Shea butter is the best product you can ever own! Homemade oil treatments work too. A little jojoba oil and peppermint will have your hair shiny smooth and moisturized. And if you want understanding, pick up Thank God I'm Natural the best book next to the Bible you can own:)

Thank you Cadian Carter for stopping by Nelly's True Natural Products. You shared alot of beneficial information that will be put to good use. I wish you all the success and hope you meet all your hair goals.

Until Next Time...

Best Wishes, Good Health and Happy Hair Growing!!!

2011 Hair Goal

Hi Everyone! I hope all is well. I wanted to share my hair goals for 2011. Some of you may already know that my ultimate hair goal is bra strap length. Hair grows about a half an inch a month so my goal for 2011 is to gain 6 inches of growth while retaining what I already have. With alot of protective hairstyling I am confident that I could make it by 2012. Here are the steps I am taking to reach my hair goal.

1- Protective Hairstyling- I cant emphasize it enough. When the weather is cold and harsh it is so vital to keep your hair protected. The options are endless (weaves, braids, wigs, head wraps, hats, etc. ) Experiment. Find what works for you and keep at it.

2- Minimize Manipulation of your hair- frequently styling your coily tresses will make them more vulnerable to breakage and hair weathering. Try to use wide tooth combs, and soft boar bristle brushes.

3- Moisturize Often- Water has become my best friend. Spraying your hair in the morning and adding your favorite oil, Shea Butter mixture, or leave in conditioner will help combat dryness and breakage.

4- Drink Water. Yes I said it. Drink plenty of water. Water will help reduce dryness, breakage and keep your hair looking healthy.

5- Take Your Vitamins...Daily. I noticed significant hair growth since I have been taking my vitamins and increased my water intake.

6- Eat Your Greens. Eating your vegetables (and fruits) not only keep your body healthy but it keeps your hair healthy as well. For example: carrots help promote a healthy scalp and cucumbers add shine to your hair.

7- Exercise! Did you know that 30 minutes of cardio will increase your blood flow. Increased blood flow in your scalp aids in hair growth. So ladies...lets exercise our way to our hair goal.

8-Relax, Relate and Release STRESS! Stress will inhibit your hair growth. Try to eliminate or reduce stress. I like to read books, go to the movies, listen to music, pray, go for walks, talk to my family and friends.

So Ladies, please feel free to add any suggestions, or share with others. I hope we all reach our hair goal.

Best Wishes, Good Health and Happy Hair Growing!!!

Nelly Peach Cobbler Simple and Tasty!

Greetings! I hope all is well. I recently made this simple peach cobbler that is soooooo tasty. I wanted to share the recipe with you all. I found it on You Tube. The prep time is 5 minutes, the cooking time is 45 minutes.

You will need:
1 stick of butter
3 tablespoons of cinnamon
1/2 cup of sugar
2 tablespoons of vanilla extract
1 pack of cook and serve vanilla pudding
1 can of peaches
2 pie crust
1 cooking pan
1 pot

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. In your pot place the stick of butter, can of peaches, cinnamon, sugar, vanilla extract, vanilla pudding. Stir on medium heat until the sauce becomes thick, as in the picture.
Grease the pan with a little bit of butter. Put the first crust in the bottom of the pan, pour the peaches and sauce into the pan. Place the other layer of crust on top. Poke holes in the crust. Put a little bit of butter on the top crust, sprinkle sugar and cinnamon if you prefer.
Bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until the top crust is golden brown.
Try the recipe. By all means please adjust the ingredients to your liking. A half a cup of sugar makes this tasty treat very sweet. I love to serve it with butter pecan ice cream.
I hope you enjoy!

Until Next Time!!!
